Tinder Gold or Tinder Plus – Which is better? All features at one glance

However, it’s important to note that ALL the features of Tinder Plus are also included in a Tinder Gold subscription.

The special features of Tinder Gold are therefore listed separately.

Tinder Plus Feature #1: Infinite likes

No more poverty when it comes to the number of your likes you can squander.

You can either swipe 10 women a day to the right, 69 or 666.

With the (free) “Classic” version of Tinder you’ve 100 Likes per day at your disposal.

If you run out, you’ll have to wait 12 hours before you can continue swiping spicy señoritas to the right.

Well, that depends on several factors.

For example, these…

• How good your profile is
• How many conversations you usually screw up
• How many dates you want a week

For me personally this feature is relatively practical. I work with Tinder every day and can assign several hundreds of Likes for demonstration purposes of my articles easypeasy.

On the other hand, I’m also a fussy swiper. I carefully select women who please me.

Maybe this is still breaking news for you, but Tinder will punish you if you swipe EVERY lady to the right.

Tinder Plus Feature #2: The “Passport” function

“Passport” aka set your location to a place where you would like to be at the moment…

Are you a compañero who never leaves his village or town? Then this function won’t do you any good at all.

Except if you’re into becoming the texting buddy of women from the other side of the world (who you’ll never meet).

On the other hand, are you someone who regularly visits other cities or travels a lot?

Then the passport function can make your Tinder life easier.

Let’s say you fly to Barcelona within the next two weeks.

• Step #1: Set your location under “Settings” to “Barcelona” (here you can choose EXACTLY the location where you’ll be staying in Barcelona)
• Step #2: Swipe, match and chat with the local beauties
• Step #3: Arrange Tinder dates
• Step #4: Live your everyday life as usual – until you start the journey
• Step #5: Arrive in Barcelona and be happy that you already have a calendar full of rendezvous

Those who don’t have a Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold subscription can only swipe local women once they’ve arrived in the city.

Sometimes it can even take several days before you match a woman you really like.

If you don’t have an original opener to get her attention, it’s almost impossible to schedule a date.

After all, she won’t even respond then and NO conversation can take place.

Tinder Plus Feature #3: No annoying advertising

As soon as you have a paid Tinder subscription (Tinder Gold or Tinder Plus), you’ll no longer see any ads when you swipe women.

An advertisement that you don’t have to read through anyway, and you can swipe to the left at the speed of light.

Realistically, this “feature” saves you maybe 0.1 seconds of your time.

Is that reason enough to buy Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold?

I don’t think so.

Tinder Plus Feature #4: The undo function

You know it.

You swipe at the speed of a jet + Eurostars + Usain Bolt combined and accidentally swipe a 11/10 to the left.

Your heart bleeds, your eyes water and your hands can’t stop shaking…

You just missed your perfect match… and you’ll never see her again.

Except maybe if you delete your Tinder account, create a new profile, and have the chance to swipe her left again…

How practical this function is, depends on how carelessly you swipe.

Or how quickly you swipe.

Are you someone who often swipes a grenade of lust hastily to the left?

Then the undo function is perfect for you. Swipe around as sloppy and nervous as you want.

Finally, after each failed swipe you can take back your last swipe and make a new decision.

Tinder Plus Feature #5: Superlikes (5 instead of one)

With the “Classic” version of Tinder you have a “Superlike” available every day.

With Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold you get four additional Superlikes per day.

But is that even useful?

To answer this question, we must first know how much a Superlike is worth.

A Superlike is exactly what the term already suggests. If you use it, you can show a lady that you not only like her profile but actually find it great.

Tinder even promises that if you superlike a woman, you’ll be displayed 3x earlier and therefore get a match with her faster.

According to further in-house studies by Tinder, matches created by superlikes are said to lead in 70% of all cases to longer conversations.

These figures seem – in my own experience – somewhat far-fetched. I’ve probably distributed hundreds and hundreds of Superlikes myself. The chance of a match is indeed increased by a Superlike.

But I can’t confirm that the conversations automatically take 70% longer because of this.

If you’re not the greatest ace at texting, a Superlike won’t help you with difficulties in your conversations…

Tinder Plus Feature #6: Manage your privacy

You’re worried about not revealing too many details about yourself at Tinder?

Maybe you don’t want some people to even know that you’re registered on Tinder?

Or: You don’t want everyone to be able to recognize your age or your distance?

With Tinder Plus (and Tinder Gold) you can easily eradicate these concerns.

While in “My Tinder Plus” (or on Tinder Gold: “My Tinder Gold”) you can set that only women you’ve marked with a like can see you…

…you can set both your age and your distance invisible under “Edit Info”.

The latter is especially practical if you are, for example, using the passport function to travel to foreign cities even though you’re still in your home country.

Women tend to be less responsive when they notice that there’s still a huge distance between you.

They then consider it unrealistic that you can date each other and tend to swipe you to the left. After all, they don’t know when you’re going to be with them.

Tinder Plus Feature #7: The Boost

You want more matches?

Then you’re served with the Tinder Boost excellently.

To put it briefly, it does exactly this to your Tinder account:

Tinder claims that by boosting your profile for the next 30 minutes, you’ll slide into the top profiles of your surroundings and thus are shown up to 10 times more women.

If you have Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold, you get a free boost every month.

You can buy more separately.

The boosts are not super cheap. This is probably because they would lose their effect if everyone bought them (if they were cheaper).

However, they won’t be more expensive than on my screen. If you’re younger or live in a poorer country, for example, Tinder will offer you lower prices.

So, if you want to display more women and get more Likes, then I definitely recommend you using the Boost function.

Used at the right time, they can get you many matches.

Time to allow Tinder Gold to enter the arena.

Tinder Gold Feature #1: See who gave you a “Like”

You’re a giant control freak? And you want to know at all times who swiped you right?

Then maybe Tinder Gold is for you.

On the screen where you can see your matches and messages, Tinder Gold also displays your received likes.

By tapping on the golden circle (on the screenshot) you can see exactly which ladies have swiped you to the right.

Every woman on this list that you swipe to the right is automatically a match.

So, if I swiped all the women on my Tinder Gold list to the right, I would have 2,122 matches.

Which of course I won’t do because I’m a picky masafakka.

Tinder Gold Feature #2: Top Picks

Tinder Picks introduces you to 4 to 10 women every day.

You can see them by tapping on the diamond symbol:

These Tinder Picks are only available for 24 hours. If you don’t swipe them, they’ll be replaced by new señoritas.

What immediately stands out is that these profiles are of higher quality.

The lady with the cap has been awarded the title “Surfer”.

She doesn’t do that herself – Tinder does that part for her.

Depending on the profile information provided, Tinder will award certain titles to the people in the Top Picks.

For example, there are titles like:

• Traveler
• Fashion Model
• Fashionista
• Creative
• Doctor
• Scholar
• …

The titles are there to give you a direct idea of what kind of woman you’re dealing with.

100% useless, if you ask me.

Does this mean that you automatically have a better chance of matching these women (and eventually getting them to go on a date)?

NO.

Tinder Picks is virtually useless. What this feature does for most men is frustrating them.

The final verdict: Tinder Plus vs. Tinder Gold – which subscription is worth it?

Now which of all Tinder subscriptions is better for you? Is Tinder Plus worth it for guys?

And what about Tinder Gold? Is it worth the extra costs – is Tinder Gold worth it for guys?

Or is free Tinder sufficient for you?

First of all, I have to say that the Classic (free) version is great.

If you don’t travel a lot and it’s okay for you to swipe around a bit before you get matches, then the free version should be enough for you.

On the other hand, if you don’t get a lot of matches, or if you regularly commute between different cities, Tinder Plus is just what you need.

With the passport function and the monthly available boost, you can even get in touch with more women than before.

You also have infinite likes at your disposal and the undo function, with which you can bring accidentally swiped cuties to life again.
